Jim met Doreen in spring of 1981, Doreen is an avid bowler,fisherman,
ebayer and shooter. Jim and Doreen have been married
for 25 years.Their son Steve is currently working at the Bullet Stop. (He's the one with long hair)
Jim and Doreen have worked here side by side since 1989
Jims dad Charles Madison started the gun business here in 1966,
Jim grew up in the house next door to Bulletstop!
He worked with dad for many years!
Jim and Doreen Started with just six guns in 1989 and have
grown to several hundred on hand at all times!!
They have sold over Thousands of guns !
Jim & Doreen Madison opened the BULLET STOP GUN SHOP as a small "mom and pop" business back in 1989. They still own and operate it today.
The BULLET STOP GUN SHOP is an "old fashioned" gun shop with personalized service, great prices, and a wealth of gun expertise. We also have an indoor shooting range.
The BULLET STOP GUN SHOP is located at 2100 Harlem Road in Loves Park IL
Hours are:
10 AM to 6 PM Tuesday - Friday,
10 AM to 5 PM on Saturday.
Jim and Doreen started the Missouri store in June 2006,
its rural location has been a very popular spot !
Hartfords hours are :
Thurs-Fri-Sat
10am til 5pm

Jim Elliott, is one of our "volunteer"
workers. Yes we have them too!
Jim helps at gun shows, NRA events,
and generally fills in any time he can!
His entire family (4 kids) are BIG into

Mike Stone, Our newest employee is responsible for many tasks
at bullet stop from the call in desk to firearms repair.
His background includes many years in the security field and
has been a Glock&Bushmaster armorer for many years !
Mike worked here in the early 80s, we are glad to have him back !
Dan Bement has been with us for over two years now,
He also hunts and shoots on a regular basis,
stop and see him as he runs the "Sunday Sales"
every Sunday 10 til 2 !
Tammy Armbruster, is an asset to
BulletStops office,she works
doin dutys of paper-work and helping
behind the counter.
Her favorite guns are XDs !
Steve started with us in October 2008. He used to make counter tops then moved to Kentucky then moved back. He does our shipping, sales, yard work, maintains our range and pretty much everything nobody else wants to do.
GI Joe Started for us as a part time fill in. He is big into military guns. He does reenactments on his day off.
